Joining a New Anesthesia Group When You've Used Graphium Before
Used Graphium at a previous practice and joining a new group with the same email? Here's how to get your account connected.
Who this article is for
This article is for providers who have used Graphium Health at a previous practice or facility and are now starting with a new anesthesia group that also uses Graphium.
If that's you, and especially if you sign in with a personal email address (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, and so on) rather than a work email tied to a single employer, please read on before your new group sends you an invite.
The short version
If you previously used Graphium somewhere else and the same email address was used for that account, your new group's invitation may not go through on its own. In that situation, contact Graphium Health Support and we will get your account connected to your new organization so you can sign in and start working.
Why this happens
Each Graphium account is tied to an email address. When you leave a practice, your account at that practice is usually deactivated.
In most cases this is seamless because providers use a work email address that belongs to a single employer. You're deactivated at the old practice, your new group sends an invite to your new work email, and a fresh account is created with no overlap.
The exception is when the same email address follows you from one group to the next. This most often happens with a personal email address. If your only Graphium account was the one at your previous practice, and that account is now deactivated, an invitation sent to that same email may not be able to attach you to the new organization. The email address already exists in our system, so a new invite to it doesn't behave the way a brand-new sign-up would.
What to do
- If you know you've used Graphium before with the same email you're about to be invited with, reach out to us first. A quick heads-up saves a round trip.
- Contact Graphium Health Support at support@graphiumhealth.com and submit an issue, or have your group's administrator submit it on your behalf.
- Tell us:
- Your name
- The email address tied to your previous Graphium account (the same one your new group is using)
- The name of your new anesthesia group or facility
- The name of your previous practice, if you remember it
- We'll connect your account to your new organization. Once that's done, you'll be able to sign in and document cases at your new facility.
A note on usernames: when the same email address is reused, your username typically stays the same as well, since it's tied to that email. We'll confirm your sign-in details when we set you up.
How to avoid this next time
When possible, use a work email address tied to your current employer when you join a new group. That keeps each Graphium account cleanly separated by employer and avoids the overlap described above. If a personal email is your only option, that's fine. Just let Support know up front that you've used Graphium before so we can set you up correctly from the start.
